Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate, bilingual counsellor / social worker to join our team on a freelance basis. Operating out of our newly opened Richmond location, you will provide culturally sensitive, in-person mental health support to our clients. This is an excellent opportunity for a dedicated professional or a recent graduate looking for a flexible, supportive environment. We handle all marketing and client acquisition, allowing you to focus entirely on clinical work while building a caseload at a pace that works for you. We offer highly flexible scheduling based on client needs and your availability.
Responsibilities
- Provide in-person, individual counselling sessions to adult clients at our Richmond office.
- Conduct therapy sessions fluently in English and either Mandarin or Cantonese, tailoring your approach to the cultural needs of the client.
- Develop treatment plans and provide evidence-based therapeutic interventions.
- Maintain accurate, confidential, and timely clinical records and session notes.
- Manage your schedule and communicate effectively with clinic management.
Qualifications & Requirements
Candidates must meet ONE of the following tracks:
- Clinical Counsellors: Must be actively registered as a Registered Clinical Counsellor (RCC) or Canadian Certified Counsellor (CCC), and hold a relevant Master’s degree.
- Social Workers: Must be actively registered as a Registered Social Worker (RSW) or Registered Clinical Social Worker (RCSW), and hold a Master of Social Work (MSW) degree.
Other requirements:
- Languages: Must be fully fluent in English AND fluent in either Mandarin or Cantonese.
- Experience: Previous clinical counselling experience is preferred, but recent graduates who meet the registration requirements are highly encouraged to apply.
- Insurance: Must hold (or be willing to obtain upon contract signing) valid professional liability insurance.
