Southgate Volkswagen is looking for a dependable and customer-focused Automotive Service Porter to join our Service Department.
This position plays an important role in keeping vehicles, customers, and daily service operations moving efficiently. The ideal candidate is organized, takes pride in maintaining a clean and professional environment, and is comfortable working in a busy dealership setting.
Schedule
Monday to Friday, with rotating Saturdays.
Responsibilities
- Greet customers professionally and assist with vehicle arrival and pick-up
- Safely move customer and dealership vehicles throughout the service area and parking lot
- Organize vehicles in designated service, parking, and delivery areas
- Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the service drive, parking areas, and customer spaces
- Inspect vehicles for visible damage or cleanliness concerns and report any issues
- Assist with fueling vehicles, charging electric vehicles, and checking fluid levels when required
- Perform light cleaning or preparation of customer vehicles as needed
- Retrieve service paperwork, keys, and other documentation for advisors and technicians
- Support Service Advisors, Technicians, and other team members with daily tasks
- Assist with moving and organizing parts, equipment, or dealership materials
- Follow all dealership safety procedures and vehicle-handling standards
- Report vehicle damage, service concerns, or safety issues promptly
Qualifications
- Valid driver’s licence with a clean driving record
- Comfortable operating both manual and automatic transmission vehicles
- 18 years of age or older
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Professional, friendly, and customer-focused attitude
- Dependable and able to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Physically capable of standing and walking for extended periods and lifting up to 50 lbs
- Previous dealership, valet, lot, or automotive service experience is an asset
- Basic knowledge of vehicle maintenance and dealership service operations is an asset
