Job Summary
ASP – Earthworks and Construction Services is seeking an experienced Excavator Operator / Heavy Equipment Operator who is comfortable operating excavators, skid steers, dozers, packers and other earthmoving equipment.
This is a hands-on position for a versatile operator who can move between equipment as project requirements change. Our work includes commercial earthworks, excavation, grading, demolition, site preparation and material handling.
Duties
- Operate excavators, skid steers, dozers, loaders, backhoes, graders, packers and other heavy equipment safely and accurately.
- Perform excavation, trenching, backfilling, rough grading, finish grading and site-preparation work according to project specifications.
- Load trucks safely and efficiently.
- Perform detailed grading and final shaping using excavators and skid steers.
- Conduct daily equipment inspections and promptly report maintenance concerns.
- Complete daily equipment logs and required site documentation.
- Follow all company and site safety requirements.
- Coordinate with supervisors and team members to complete project work efficiently and meet deadlines.
- Assist with general site duties as required.
Experience and Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years of excavator operating experience.
- Minimum 5 years of skid steer operating experience.
- Proven experience with excavation, grading, backfilling and site preparation.
- Ability to perform both rough and finish grading.
- Experience operating dozers, loaders, backhoes, graders and packers is considered an asset.
- Mechanical knowledge of heavy-equipment maintenance and basic troubleshooting.
- Familiarity with Komatsu, Caterpillar, Bobcat or similar equipment is considered an asset.
- Strong understanding of heavy-equipment and construction-site safety requirements.
- Ability to work independently and take responsibility for assigned work.
- Comfortable completing daily equipment inspections, logs and basic electronic site documentation.

Pay: $36.00-$42.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40.0 – 60.0 per week
