The individual we are recruiting for must have exceptional experience in Microsoft Server operating systems, features, and functions with key proficiencies with Exchange, MS365, MS Teams, DC, DNS, AD, Group Policy, Upgrades, IIS, SSL Certification, proficiency with VMware administration, as well as Backup and Disaster Recovery solutions. The candidate must have the ability to architect, install, upgrade service and support solutions based upon the above technologies for both internal and external projects. Experience in designing solutions for a wide range of SMB to Enterprise level customers and the ability to convey a high level of competence would be beneficial.
MCSE in on premise server infrastructure or communications (on premise Exchange) and verifiable administrative experience with VMware are a requirement for application.
Responsibilities:
The candidate will be required to work on a number of internal projects while also providing direct support to both internal and external customers as outlined below.
Projects and Regular Responsibilities:
· Attend customer sites to provide managed service support for their environment. Supporting MS Server (including Exchange, and all standard server O/S features as above), Microsoft 365, MS desktop software suites, and administering or configuring their backup solutions.
· Work on a flexible schedule to support your scheduled client site visits, your internal/external ad-hoc support responsibilities, and the maintenance or implementation work that will be required out of standard business hours (as an example, Upgrade or patching work resulting in potential risk or outage will be required to be performed during maintenance windows, generally overnights on weekends).
· Assist with VMware core infrastructure upgrades by performing administrative tasks such as vMotion, VMware tools updates, configuration and support of HA/FT etc.
· Perform daily administrative tasks within the virtual environment (moves, adds, changes, basic provisioning).
· Perform Windows Server operating system upgrades, ensuring compatibility with existing hardware, applications, and infrastructure.
· Perform troubleshooting, upgrades and patching of windows environments where applicable.
· Provide support on an ad-hoc basis to internal and external customers when service issues arise that tier 1 service desk is unable to resolve.
· Provide mentoring to other team members on MS, BUDR and VMware solutions were applicable.
· Regularly communicate answers to complex questions and respond to detailed inquiries about technical issues and how to resolve them.
· Effectively coordinate, install and manage multiple projects.
· Be responsible for successfully completing assignments on time and within budget
· Maintain complete and accurate project documentation and records of all activities, licenses etc.
· Participate in our clients on-call rotating schedule for overnight/weekend support
· Other duties as required.
Irregular Responsibilities:
Depending on workload and the available skillsets of other engineers, you may from time to time be asked to engage in the following activities based upon business needs.
· Attend customer meetings in person as well as via audio and/or video conference.
· Gather customer requirements and support the sales team.
· Provide proposal generation to the sales team in a comprehensive, thorough, detailed and time sensitive manner
· Develop Statement of Works for each job based on system design and customer requirements.
· Develop preliminary system design drawings including, but not limited to, system diagrams, drawings and sketches; Design/Build and Bid/Build specifications; and operational capabilities narratives, etc.
· Develop accurate estimates for each job.
· Provide technical response to the customer RFP/RFQ/RFI.
· Provide Teir1 support along with other engineers where required if Teir1 resources are unavailable
· Other duties as required.
Desired Skills and Experience:
Must have:
· Expert knowledge of Microsoft Server technologies and best practices
· Must have extensive experience in performing advanced configuration of Microsoft Server infrastructures including Exchange, Active Directory, Group Policy, Domain Controllers, DNS, IIS, SSL Certificates, and multi Domain Controller environments
· Excellent skills with VMware and SAN administration
· Must have excellent problem solving and troubleshooting skills with the ability to perform advanced troubleshooting on Microsoft, VMware, Storage technologies.
· Must have experience in performing upgrades and installations of Servers, Storage Devices (SANS/NAS), iSCSI technologies (for example, upgrading firmware, replacement of components, and configuration of devices)
· Proficient in the support and use of Microsoft Office solutions (Outlook, Excel, and Word)
· Proficient in the use of Microsoft Visio and experienced in creating new diagrams of existing or proposed environments, as well as updating of existing documents with changes based on internal design standards
· Proficiency and significant experience in developing, administering, and troubleshooting Backup Disaster and Recovery solutions
· Demonstrated proficiency in IP Networking and the TCP/IP stack
· Exceptional customer service, written, verbal and interpersonal skills.
· Exceptional documentation skills (Visio Diagrams, Ticket Entry report of completed tasks, and Technical Change Requests)
· Maintain a professional attitude and appearance at all times
· Valid driver’s license
Nice to have:
· Proficiency and experience with Datto Backup and Recovery.
· Proficiency and experience with Linux or Unix environments
· Proficiency and experience with Linux or Unix DNS, SSL Certificates, administration, upgrades, and troubleshooting
· Proficiency and experience with VOIP technologies
Certifications:
The ideal candidate will have several years of experience in the above technologies and have a number of the following certifications or equivalent knowledge there-in. However, current
MCSE for Server or Communications, MSCA Server or Desktop, VCP, VCAP, VMCE, CCNA, Network+, Security+, Server+, Storage+, A+
Pay: $60,000.00-$65,000.00 per year
