This job offers the opportunity to work from home as part of a hybrid work arrangement. This arrangement will allow you to work some days at a TCHC work location and the rest of the time from home. The amount of time required to work at a TCHC work location is flexible, while considering operational and service delivery requirements.
Make a Difference
At Toronto Community Housing we pride ourselves on fostering an environment of collaboration and respect. The Accounts Payable Supervisor will report to the Manager, Accounts Payable, and will be responsible for supervising a team of clerks in a high-volume environment. This role will be responsible for ensuring the accurate, timely and efficient payment of all vendor accounts in accordance with TCHC policies and department standards and for troubleshooting day-to-day accounts payable operations.
What You'll Do

Perform daily review of accounts payable transactions for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with TCHC policies and procedures

Review vendor account reconciliations performed by the accounts payable team

Participate in the development of all accounts payable control processes, recommending process improvements, and overseeing all process changes

Work with TCHC departments and management to ensure that payments are processed accurately and in a timely manner while maintaining service levels

Oversee payment-related vendor management including maintaining and developing professional and courteous vendor relationships

Train, mentor, coach and develop the accounts payable team

Ensure proper maintenance of associated accounting records and supplier files in accordance with TCH’s document retention policy

Perform all other duties as assigned
What You'll need
-
Post-secondary diploma or degree specializing in business, accounting or finance
-
Professional accounting designation considered an asset (CPA, CGA, CMA)
-
5+ years of related experience in supervisory Accounts Payable positions. Supervisory experience in a union environment is preferred
-
Strong analytical and problem solving skills
-
Advanced level technical skills using Excel and MS office tools
-
Strong interpersonal skills with strong oral and written communication skills
-
Excellent client service and problem resolution skills with the proven ability to deal with all levels including senior staff; and proven ability to work well under pressure and meet tight deadlines
