The Grande Prairie Police Service is seeking motivated and service-focused individuals to join our Policing Support Services team. This position plays a critical role in supporting police operations through frontline public service, criminal record processing, police information management, records administration, and operational support within a highly regulated environment.
The successful candidate must exercise sound judgment, maintain strict confidentiality, and consistently demonstrate accuracy, professionalism, and adaptability while working with sensitive and occasionally distressing information.
Key Responsibilities:

Serve as a professional first point of contact for the public, partner agencies, and internal stakeholders.

Receive, document, and respond to complaints, inquiries, and service requests in a timely and professional manner.

Assess incoming concerns and determine appropriate escalation or police involvement based on established procedures.

Process, review, and maintain confidential police, court, and administrative records in accordance with legislative and policing requirements.

Complete criminal record checks, vulnerable sector checks, and related disclosure processes.

Provide electronic and ink fingerprinting services for civil purposes, including employment, immigration, citizenship, legal name changes, travel waivers, and record suspensions.

Process payments and maintain accurate financial and service records related to fingerprinting and record checks.

Perform accurate data entry, verification, and quality control within police information and records management systems.

Create, update, modify, and remove police information records in accordance with established procedures and information standards.

Review and process legal and court-related documentation for accuracy and compliance.

Conduct database queries and information searches using law enforcement and justice systems.

Maintain strict confidentiality when handling sensitive personal, criminal, and court-related information.

Support file audits, records retention, and information management practices.

Provide cross-functional administrative and operational support across Policing Support Services.

Coordinate administrative functions including scheduling, inventory, procurement, and general office support as required.
Qualifications
The successful candidate will possess a High School Diploma or equivalent and post secondary education in Business Administration, Office Administration, Justice Studies or a related field.
Minimum two (2) years of progressive administrative experience in a fast-paced environment involving confidential or sensitive information.
Experience requiring accuracy, discretion, adherence to established procedures, and independent judgment.
An equivalent combination of education and relevant experience may be considered.
Additional assets would include previous employment in a law enforcement environment, a current RCMP/Police Enhanced Security Clearance, and experience with a Police Records Management System, the Canadian Police Information Centre (CPIC) and the Justice Online Network (JOIN)
Preference may be given to those who already possess an RCMP/Police Enhanced Security Clearance, which is significantly more involved than a Police Information Check or a Criminal Record Check.

Hours of work
The standard workweek consists of an average of 37.5 hours per week. Work schedules will be determined by the immediate supervisor and varies based on operational needs.
Compensation
Salary range of $30.63 to $39.62 per hours, in accordance with the Out-of-Scope Agreement.
