Overview
Our client company, a world class manufacturing company, is currently seeking a full time permanent Millwright for their operation. This is a direct hire opportunity, with a generous compensation package.
Position Overview Responsible for setting up, maintaining, and repairing a variety of equipment and components. The main areas of focus include meeting production requirements, station set-up, health and safety, and quality control.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintaining a preventative maintenance program.
- Assembling, installing, and testing machinery to ensure proper operation.
- Working in full compliance with approved safety regulations.
- Assisting with the layout and placement of equipment and machinery in factory settings to minimize downtime.
- Identifying and repairing problematic machine parts by running tests, making temporary repairs, or installing new parts.
- Dismantling legacy machinery and replacing it with new equipment.
- Overseeing preventive maintenance by identifying and correcting potential issues, removing worn parts, and lubricating mechanical components.
- Operating machinery and equipment, such as forklifts, to move mechanical parts.
- Adhering to the company’s Code of Business Ethics and related compliance policies.
- Performing additional duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Requirements and Qualifications
- Red Seal Millwright certification (or equivalent national/regional standard) is considered an asset.
- Strong team player with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional stakeholders, including Engineers, Managers, and parts vendors.
- Working knowledge of mechanical and technical skills, with the ability to read and interpret technical documents, specifications, machine manuals, and blueprints.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while contributing to a team environment.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
Health and Safety
- Understand and follow applicable Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) policies and procedures in the workplace.
- Report unsafe conditions, injuries, accidents, illnesses, near-misses, and property damage to supervisors or Joint Health and Safety Committee (JHSC) representatives immediately.
- Wear required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) in the manufacturing environment (e.g., safety glasses, safety shoes, hearing protection, high-visibility vests).
Working Conditions
- Physical Environment: Work is performed in a manufacturing/industrial setting with exposure to loud noise, concrete floors, moving mechanical parts, overhead cranes, forklift activity, and potential dust, fumes, chemicals, or extreme temperatures.
- Work Schedule: May require shift work (days, nights, weekends, or rotating shifts) and overtime during peak production periods.
- Workplace Hazards: Involves operating heavy machinery/power tools, handling hazardous materials, risk of repetitive motion strain, and potential exposure to ultraviolet radiation from welding and cutting operations.
- Team & Work Environment: Fast-paced production setting with set quotas, deadlines, and independent or team-based tasks.
Effort Requirements
- Physical Effort: Lifting, carrying, pushing, or pulling up to 50 lbs; frequent bending, stooping, twisting, reaching, and standing/walking for extended periods; performing repetitive tasks; and handling sharp or abrasive materials.
- Mental & Cognitive Effort: High attention to detail for quality control and safety compliance, following complex standard operating procedures (SOPs), and problem-solving minor machine malfunctions.
- Pace & Productivity: Meeting production quotas and deadlines under pressure in a high-speed manufacturing environment.
Pay: $42.44-$45.74 per hour
