Registered Massage Therapist (RMT)
Evergreen Wellness Studio — Whitehorse, Yukon
Independent Contractor Opportunity
Evergreen Wellness Studio is a collaborative, multidisciplinary clinic located in downtown Whitehorse. We bring together massage therapy and physiotherapy in a supportive, team-based environment rooted in high-quality care, clinical integrity, and genuine collaboration.
We have a strong and steady demand for care, full schedules, and a loyal client base that truly values warm therapeutic, outcomes-focused treatment. We believe in maintaining a strong work-life balance, and cultivating friendships within our team.
We are looking for a Registered Massage Therapist who wants more than just a job. Someone who is excited to build a meaningful practice, be part of a grounded and supportive team, and create a lifestyle that extends beyond the treatment room.
Have you ever imagined finishing a day of deep, focused treatments and stepping outside into endless summer daylight for a hike or trail run? Or having the flexibility to structure your days so you can actually enjoy where you live? Whitehorse has a way of pulling people in. Many come for a short stay and end up building a life here. We hope that you can experience it.
Our clinic culture is close-knit, warm, and low-drama. We support each other, collaborate on cases, and share ideas. We also have a clinic dog (sometimes two), and they are very much part of the team.
If you are craving a slower pace, meaningful patient relationships, and a life that feels balanced and full, keep reading.
The Position
We are seeking a Registered Massage Therapist to join our clinic as an independent contractor.
This is an in-person role based in Whitehorse, Yukon. You must be willing to relocate.
We want to be very clear about this so we respect everyone’s time — we are only considering candidates who are genuinely open to relocating and building a life here.

- Providing homecare such as exercises, stretches, and movement strategies (when/if necessary)
- Maintaining clear, professional clinical notes
- Communicating and collaborating with other practitioners when appropriate
- Participating in a team environment where ideas, insights, and support are shared
Schedule & Structure
- Flexible schedule, typically between 8am–6pm

- You have autonomy over your schedule within clinic hours
- We are ideally looking for someone interested in a longer-term commitment (1 year or more)

- Values collaboration and being part of a team
- Has strong interpersonal skills and emotional intelligence

- Is self-directed and comfortable with the independence of contractor work
New graduates are absolutely welcome. We are happy to support you with mentorship, collaboration, and learning as you grow.
Clinic Culture & Fit
This matters a lot to us.
- You are comfortable working in a space with dogs
- You enjoy being part of a shared environment (including small things like helping with laundry rotation)
- You are warm, grounded, and easy to work with
- You are curious and open to learning
- You are someone who genuinely wants to be part of a team, not just rent a room
Whitehorse is a very outdoor-oriented community, and many of our clients live active lifestyles. You do not need to be extreme, but having an appreciation for nature and movement will help you feel aligned here!
Important: Licensing & Practicing in Yukon
Yukon does not have a massage therapy regulatory college or territorial association, which means there are a few important requirements:
To practice here, you must:
- If coming from an UNREGULATED province: you must maintain an active licence with a provincial association
- If coming from a REGULATED province: each province has their own requirements for working out-of-province, for example BC Registered Massage Therapists may practice in the Yukon, whereas ON Registered Massage Therapists are not able to.
- Carry your own professional liability insurance
- Obtain a City of Whitehorse business license once you arrive (this is straightforward)
- Register for GST and manage your own remittance if you earn over 30,000 annually
We will guide you through all of this, but you are responsible for maintaining your licensing and tax requirements.
Compensation & What We Provide
Compensation
- 75/25 split (you keep 75 percent of your earnings)
- You are responsible for your own GST remittance
- No relocation bonus is offered
What you will have access to:
- A fully equipped treatment room (electric table, linens, oils, bolsters, supplies)
- Jane App booking system and payment processing
- Administrative support for scheduling and client communication
- Utilities, internet, heating, and general overhead covered
- Shared laundry facilities (with rotating responsibilities)
- Weekend cleaning service
- A consistent and strong client base
Location & Lifestyle
Whitehorse offers a unique lifestyle:
- Population of approximately 30,000 with a strong sense of community
- Immediate access to hiking, biking, skiing, paddling, and wilderness
- Winters with extended access to outdoor winter sports (from some of the best XC ski trails in the world to Spring skiing/boarding in the backcountry as late as May), Northern Lights, and community events / team sports. Summers with 24 hours of light, easily accessible wilderness (hikes, bikes, camping, ATV-ing, paddling) and local trails steps away from your doorstep.
- Northern Living Allowance tax benefits
- A small but connected professional community, making it easier to build a strong reputation
This lifestyle is not for everyone — and that is okay. We are looking for someone who is genuinely excited about this kind of environment and is ready to embrace both the beauty and the challenges that come with it!
