Recovery Alberta's Virtual Addiction Medicine Services is looking for an experienced, passionate, innovative leader to join its team as a Program Manager. This role works directly with the medical and operational leadership team to ensure high-quality, evidence-informed, patient-centered service delivery across a recovery-oriented system of care in Alberta. Recovery Alberta’s Addiction Services portfolio is committed to transforming the landscape of addiction care in Alberta, and this position is a key enabler to success! Recovery Alberta, Virtual Addiction Medicine Services (VAMS) provides low barrier, rapid access to evidence-informed comprehensive care for substance use disorders across Alberta, including the Virtual Opioid Dependency Program (VODP) and Virtual Rapid Access Addiction Medicine Program (VRAAM). VAMS redefines addiction treatment, eliminating barriers of traditional service delivery and fostering better outcomes and accessibility province wide. It is a key component in advancing the Alberta Recovery Model.
Reporting to the Director, Virtual Addiction and Transition Services, the Program Manager is responsible for hiring and leading an inter-professional team, performance development of staff, program resource allocation and budgetary management, and implementing and maintaining best practice standards. The Program Manager works in close collaboration with operational and medical leadership to advance innovations in service delivery, enhance system integration and coordination, advance initiatives to better serve Indigenous clients and communities, and ensures low barrier rapid access to safe, evidence informed, recovery-oriented care for all Albertans.

Required Qualifications:
An undergraduate (Baccalaureate) degree in a health-related discipline is required. Applicable registration with the appropriate professional college. A minimum of 3 years’ experience leading an inter-professional team providing evidence informed addiction treatment. A minimum of 3 years’ experience leading multi-collaborator projects to advance recovery-oriented services of care. A minimum of 5 years’ clinical experience in screening, assessing, and treating addiction and concurrent psychiatric disorders.
Additional Required Qualifications:
Advanced knowledge in suicide prevention and risk management, DSM5-TR diagnostic criteria, intoxication/poisoning and withdrawal management, validated screening/assessment instruments, evidence informed pharmacological/psychosocial interventions, and trauma-violence informed, culturally informed, patient-centered care principles. Extensive knowledge of addictions and mental health services accessible across Alberta. Proficient computer skills including ZOOM, SharePoint, Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Outlook, Publisher, Teams and PowerPoint). Excellent critical thinking and communication skills with a proven ability to work independently and cohesively as part of a virtual team.
Preferred Qualifications:
A Graduate degree (Masters) in a health-related field. Experience in advancing initiatives to better serve Indigenous clients and communities.
