Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Carpet Installer to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for installing various types of flooring, including carpet, , and other surface materials, ensuring precise and high-quality workmanship. This role requires a strong understanding of construction practices, the ability to read blueprints, and proficiency with hand tools. The Carpet Installer will work closely with clients and project managers to complete installations efficiently and to specifications, contributing to the overall success of our flooring projects.
Responsibilities
- Measure and prepare spaces for flooring installation according to project specifications.
- Remove old flooring materials safely and efficiently.
- Install carpet, and other flooring surfaces using appropriate techniques and tools.
- Read and interpret blueprints and floor plans to ensure accurate installation.
- Use hand tools such as cutters, trowels, hammers, and screwdrivers to perform installations.
- Perform floor preparation tasks including leveling, subfloor repair, and surface cleaning.
- Apply caulking or sealants as needed for finished surfaces.
- Ensure all work meets safety standards and adheres to building codes.
- Collaborate with team members and clients to complete projects on time and within scope.
- Maintain a clean work area during and after installation.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in flooring installation or construction is preferred.
- Familiarity with hand tools, carpentry, tile laying, caulking, and blueprint reading is highly desirable.
- Construction or handyman experience is a plus.
- Ability to read technical drawings and interpret blueprints accurately.
- Strong attention to detail with excellent problem-solving skills.
- Physical ability to lift heavy materials, stand for extended periods, and perform manual tasks in various environments.
- Knowledge of safety procedures related to construction and flooring installation.
- Reliable transportation and the ability to work on-site at different locations as required.
