Cardiac Sonographer Full and Part Time Positions Available
We are looking for passionate cardiac sonographers to work at our location in Corunna, Ontario (13km South of Sarnia, Ontario). We are known as Capture Health in Corunna and are a Windsor Heart Institute Company. We are the largest outpatient cardiovascular institute in the Windsor Essex county. Our cardiologists are made up of subspecialists in the field of interventional cardiology, advanced heart failure and transplantation and advanced cardiac imaging.
In addition to an hourly or per study salary, the successful candidate will be enrolled in a very generous Hospital of Ontario Pension Program (HOOPP)
The role of the cardiac sonographer is extremely important. Obtaining high quality and accurate images frequently determines if a patient obtains the correct diagnosis, treatment and ultimate benefit in the form of living longer or living better. We recognize that excellent images save lives. We are looking for cardiac sonographers who are interested in advancing their skills. We offer echo rounds twice per month to further enhance your knowledge base and support your educational requirements.
The right candidate will be able to:
- Prepare for examinations by checking equipment, taking inventory of supplies, replenishing stock as needed, reviewing physician orders and patient schedules, readying recording equipment and inputting patient information.
- Manage patient stress by patiently explaining exam procedures, answering questions, and providing ambulatory assistance.
- Positions patients, applies medical gels, connects and adjusts equipment and verifies wave signals.
- Produces high-quality imaging by accurately positioning transducer, monitoring display, listening to signals, adjusting beam strength and focus, detecting artifacts that mimic abnormalities, and recording images.
- Records examination details by saving data and graphics, producing measurements of heart wall, chamber size, and blood flow direction and velocity and comparing measurements to established norms.
- Accepts ownership for completing all studies efficiently and completely.
- Keeps job-related knowledge up to date by taking advantage of educational opportunities, networking, reading professional publications and participating in professional organizations.
- Trains new staff and students when necessary
Requirements:
Ability to perform adult echocardiography independently. Additional skills and/or willingness to learn contrast, stress echocardiography and insertion of IV lines
Full-Time and Part-Time positions available.
Required License / Certification: Successful completion of a Diagnostic Cardiac Sonography program from an accredited institution.
Registration with College of Medical Imaging and Radiation Technologists
