Our client a large pension fund is looking for a AI Governance and Risk Implementation Lead to join them on a 12 month contract. The role will be working hybrid 3 days at their offices in downtown Toronto.
The contractor will partner with Technology, Risk, Legal/Compliance, Procurement, Audit, and business stakeholders to implement AI governance and risk controls aligned with the NIST AI Risk Management Framework.

Apply NIST AI RMF concepts across the AI lifecycle, including integration into existing governance, risk management, and monitoring activities.

Develop, implement, and operationalize AI governance standards, procedures, and guidance aligned with the NIST AI RMF maturity assessment findings.

Facilitate cross-functional working sessions and help establish a sustainable AI governance operating model.

Develop scalable workflows and control guidance to support consistent AI governance implementation across the enterprise

Translate AI principles and risk requirements into clear control expectations, review checkpoints, and implementation guidance.
Qualification

Bachelor’s degree in information technology, risk management, computer science, engineering, or a related field.

Relevant certifications such as ISO 42001 Lead Implementer, AIGP, or equivalent.

Comfortable working through ambiguity and aligning stakeholders around clear decisions

Able to balance governance requirements with practical implementation, operational usability, and business enablement.

Clear communicator with sound judgment, attention to detail, and a strong enterprise risk mindset.

Strong knowledge of technology governance frameworks, technology architecture, and risk management.

Working knowledge of the NIST AI RMF, responsible AI principles, AI lifecycle governance, and AI risk management practices.
