Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and professional Class 5 Driving Instructor to join our team in Calgary, AB. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing comprehensive driving instruction to new drivers, ensuring they develop safe and confident driving skills. This role involves delivering engaging lessons, fostering a positive learning environment, and adhering to all safety regulations. The instructor will play a vital role in helping students achieve their driving goals while promoting responsible driving habits.
Duties
- Conduct individual driving lessons for new drivers, focusing on safety, traffic laws, and defensive driving techniques
- Develop customized lesson plans tailored to each student’s skill level and learning pace
- Assess student progress regularly and provide constructive feedback to improve their driving abilities
- Prepare students for their Class 5 road test by reviewing practical skills and testing procedures
- Maintain accurate records of lessons completed, student progress, and attendance
- Ensure all lessons are conducted in compliance with provincial licensing regulations and safety standards
- Foster a supportive and encouraging environment that builds student confidence and motivation
- Stay updated on changes in traffic laws and best practices in driver education
Experience
- Prior tutoring or teaching experience is highly desirable, especially in driver education or classroom instruction
- Strong communication skills to effectively convey instructions and feedback to diverse learners
- Experience with classroom or practical teaching environments is preferred but not mandatory
- Excellent interpersonal skills to build rapport with students and create a positive learning atmosphere
- Valid Class 5 Instructor driver’s license with a clean driving record is required
- Knowledge of local traffic laws, road safety practices, and testing procedures is an asset
