Job Overview
- Position Title: Snow Removal Labourer
- Job Type: Seasonal, or On-Call (Winter months)
- Pay Rate: Competitive hourly rates based on experience (typically ranging from $18 to $22 per hour)
Key Responsibilities
- Clearing Snow: Shovels snow and clears ice from walkways, steps, doorways, and sidewalks.
- Equipment Operation: Operates snowblowers, salt spreaders, and other hand-held or walk-behind snow removal tools safely.
- Applying Ice Melter: Spreads salt, sand, or chemical ice melters on slippery surfaces to prevent slips and falls.
- Site Maintenance: Clears debris before winter storms and maintains tools and equipment after use.
- Physical Fitness: Able to lift heavy loads (up to 50 lbs) and perform strenuous physical labor in freezing temperatures for long hours.
- Availability: Willing to work flexible, irregular, or early-morning hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays depending on snowfall.
- Driver's License: A valid driver’s license and reliable transportation to a central yard or job site are preferred.
- Experience: Previous experience in landscaping, construction, or winter maintenance is a strong asset, but training is often provided.
Pay: $18.00-$22.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40.0 per week
