Part-Time Shifts 8-22hrs : Open, Close, and Late-Night (Past 1:00 AM)
Standard Probationary Period Employment is subject to a 90-day introductory period to assess mutual fit and performance.
We are seeking a reliable, customer-focused Cashier/ Clerk to join our team. This role is perfect for a self-motivated individual who thrives in a fast-paced environment and possesses open scheduling flexibility. To succeed in this role, you must be available to work open, close, and late-night shifts (extending past 1:00 AM) from Sunday through Saturday.
Key Responsibilities
Customer Service
-Greet patrons warmly, process transactions quickly, and deliver excellent service.
Point of Sale (POS)
-Operate the cash register accurately, handle cash, and process card payments.
Age Verification
-Strictly check identification for age-restricted items like tobacco, lottery, and alcohol.
Store Operations
-Perform opening and closing procedures, secure the facility, and manage shift handovers. *
Stocking & Maintenance
-Restock shelves, front-face products, and keep the coffee and beverage stations clean.
Cleanliness
-Sweep, mop, empty trash bins, and ensure the store is clean and welcoming for the next shift.
Scheduling & Availability Requirements (Strict)
-Open Availability
-Must be available Sunday through Saturday. Night Owls Welcome: Must be able to work late-night and overnight shifts extending past 1:00 AM.
Flexibility
-Willingness to handle both opening and closing store procedures as scheduled.
Qualifications & Skills
*Previous retail, cashier, or convenience store experience is an asset (but not required).
*Strong basic math skills and high attention to detail.
*Excellent communication and conflict-resolution skills.
* Must be at least 19 years old to sell age-restricted products.
* Reliable transportation to accommodate late-night finishes and early-morning starts.
* Ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 40 lbs.
*Loss and fraud prevention
Examples : Handling shoplifters, preventing fraud through knowledge of counterfeit bills, being alert through attempts of lottery scams and or distractive behaviour
*Comfortable climbing a ladder to stock and fulfill duties
