Overview
FAHM Technology Partners is seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Finance & Operations Manager to oversee full-cycle accounting, financial reporting, and day-to-day operational support for FAHM and its affiliated companies.
The successful candidate will report directly to the Managing Director and will work closely with management, external accountants, auditors, banks, vendors, customers, and internal staff. The role may also include supervising bookkeeping and administrative staff.
ResponsibilitiesAccounting and Financial Reporting
- Manage full-cycle accounting, including journal entries, general ledger maintenance, and financial statement preparation.
- Complete monthly and annual closing procedures.
- Prepare accurate and timely financial reports in accordance with ASPE.
- Perform bank, credit card, balance sheet, loan, and intercompany reconciliations.
- Maintain accounting records for multiple related companies.
- Assist with year-end working papers, audits, and corporate tax support.
- Monitor cash flow, expenses, and the overall financial position of the business.
Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable
- Prepare and issue customer invoices and follow up on outstanding balances.
- Maintain accounts receivable aging reports and resolve billing issues.
- Record vendor invoices, reconcile supplier statements, and process payments.
- Review purchase orders, expenses, and supporting documentation.
- Maintain accurate customer and vendor records.
Payroll, Tax and Compliance
- Administer payroll and maintain employee payroll records.
- Ensure compliance with payroll deductions, remittances, and employment requirements.
- Prepare GST/HST reports and coordinate filings.
- Assist with T4s, Records of Employment, benefits, and other payroll matters.
- Coordinate with external accountants, auditors, government agencies, and financial institutions.
- Maintain organized records for tax, payroll, audit, and compliance purposes.
Financial Planning and Operations
- Assist with budgets, forecasts, cash flow projections, and variance analysis.
- Prepare financial analysis and management reports.
- Support the Managing Director with financial and operational decision-making.
- Coordinate customer orders, vendor purchases, contracts, billing milestones, and payment terms.
- Assist with banking, financing applications, credit facilities, and insurance matters.
- Develop and improve accounting and operational procedures.
- Identify opportunities to automate processes and improve efficiency.
- Supervise and review the work of bookkeeping or administrative staff.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
- CPA designation, CPA candidacy, or an equivalent international accounting designation is highly regarded.
- Minimum of five years of experience in full-cycle accounting and financial reporting.
- Strong knowledge of accounts receivable, accounts payable, payroll, reconciliations, and year-end closing.
- Proficiency in QuickBooks Online and Microsoft Excel.
- Strong technology and internet skills, with the ability to learn new systems quickly.
- Experience with multiple companies, related entities, or intercompany transactions is an asset.
- Strong analytical, organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently, manage priorities, and meet deadlines.
- High level of accuracy, professionalism, and confidentiality.
