About the Role: As a Building Mechanical Maintenance Person (BMMP), you will play an important role in keeping our buildings running smoothly by ensuring high-quality maintenance and skilled trade support services are delivered across a portfolio of leased and owned properties. In this hands-on role, you’ll help create safe, comfortable, and efficient environments for building occupants while contributing to the overall performance and reliability of building systems.
What You’ll Do 1. Deliver comprehensive maintenance and trade support services across assigned properties 2. Perform preventive maintenance and minor repairs on building systems, including HVAC, plumbing, fire and security, environmental and energy systems, client comfort systems, and building fabric 3. Conduct regular inspections and proactively recommend necessary maintenance, repairs, and improvements to building systems and infrastructure 4. Coordinate and schedule preventive and planned maintenance activities while maintaining accurate service records and reports 5. Contribute to the development of operational and maintenance budgets, including input into the 5-year planning process and project budgets 6. Respond promptly and effectively to emergencies (e.g., fire, water leaks, equipment malfunctions), while communicating and collaborating with clients to address building needs and concerns 7. Evaluate new equipment, tools, and maintenance programs to support continuous improvement 8. Procure required materials, goods, and supplies to support ongoing maintenance activities
JOB DESCRIPTION
“The successful candidate will be required to attain and maintain a valid and active RCMP Enhanced Security Clearance (ERSC). Please note, a condition for attaining an Enhanced Reliability Security (ERS) clearance includes the condition that applicants must have lived in Canada a minimum of five years to apply for ERS.”

This is a unionized role with the BCGEU governed by a Collective Bargaining Agreement. This is a 35 hour per week position and the rate of pay for this role is $37.08/hour. This position is eligible for participation in the Public Service Pension Plan and Extended Health and Dental benefits after 6 months of service.
