We are seeking a Business Development Manager, Construction Markets to develop and manage a customer portfolio focused on commercial roofing contractors across Ontario and Quebec, supporting both new construction and renovation projects.
In this role, you will be responsible for driving sales growth and expanding market share through effective territory management, strategic business development, and the execution of approved sales and marketing initiatives. You will also deliver exceptional customer service while collaborating closely with the Industrial Sales Construction team to strengthen market presence, support channel partners, and ensure consistent execution of Goliath's sales strategy.
The successful candidate will bring extensive experience within the construction industry, particularly in commercial roofing, along with a strong understanding of the contractor, consultant, and specification communities that influence project selection and purchasing decisions. Strong industry relationships and the ability to identify and capitalize on growth opportunities are essential to success in this role.

Build and maintain a customer base focused on commercial roofing contractors in Ontario/Quebec, for both new construction and renovation.
- Identify market opportunities through associations, networking, conferences, and other channels.
- Act as a technical resource for the application of low slope PVC single ply roofing systems with new and existing customers, support in system design as required.
- Establish good working relationships and collaborative arrangements with internal and external customers.
- Assist customers in lead generation and identification of large/notable upcoming projects.
- As part of the Construction Team, determine the products required to support the development of a local PVC single ply roofing presence.
- Work with our Product Development Team to identify Codes and Approvals appropriate for our local strategy.
- Participate in the development of the strategic business plan that meets the goals and objectives of the Industrial Sales Team.
- Identify and evaluate the risks to the organization’s people, property, finances, goodwill, and image and communicate said risks.
- Some Travel Required-Trade shows, Customer events and possible training opportunities.
- Other related duties as assigned.

Five+ years of experience in a sales role in the roofing market, either through sales/estimating, or for sales to contractors
- Strong presentation and communication skills
- Technical aptitude to provide basic product knowledge and project clarification when required
- Proficiency with Microsoft PowerPoint, Word, and Outlook
- Valid driver’s license and ability to travel within Western Canada
- Ability to manage multiple tasks independently
- Strong communication skills – listening, clarifying, understanding, speaking, and facilitating
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
Education

Bachelor of Business Administration or equivalent experience
Working Environment:
- Mix of office work and visits to construction sites, customer sites and other production facilities
- Generally, requires low physical demands
- Regular interaction with customers in sensitive or high-pressure situations involving delivery and quality issues, requiring strong conflict resolution, communication, and customer service skills
- Prolonged absences from work due to Domestic (NA) travel from 75 to 100 days per annum
