The role
Axis BC is a Metro Vancouver waterproofing and building envelope contractor. We work on parkades, podium decks, terraces, below-grade walls, and roofs across the Lower Mainland, mostly for stratas and property managers. We have more sold work than our current crew structure can deliver, and we need a field lead who can run jobs day to day so the owners can stay focused on clients and new work.
This starts as a subcontract position. If it works for both sides, we would rather make it permanent. You will run the site, not just work on it. You will still have your tools on most days.
What you will do
- Run active job sites: sequencing, crew direction, quality control, and daily production
- Lead a small crew of 2 to 4, including sub labour, and keep them productive
- Apply and supervise membrane and coating work (Sika, Cemprotec, and similar systems)
- Take daily photos and short progress notes through our job photo app
- Handle material and tool pickups so the crew never stands around waiting
- Flag site issues, extras, and change-order work to the owners early
- Keep the site safe and tidy: fall protection, tie-off, housekeeping
Must haves
- Experience leading a crew on construction or restoration sites
- Valid BC driver’s licence and your own vehicle
- Able to invoice as a subcontractor (or willing to set that up; we can point you in the right direction)
Nice to have
- Waterproofing, roofing, or building envelope background
- Hands-on time with Sika, Cemprotec, or similar membrane systems
- Fall protection ticket, rope access (SPRAT or IRATA), or swing stage experience
Pay: $30.00-$48.00 per hour
Expected hours: 35.0 – 45.0 per week
Work Location: In person
