Job Overview
We are looking for an experienced and motivated Lead Hand to join our Production team. In this hands-on leadership role, you will support the Supervisor by coordinating daily production activities, ensuring food safety and quality standards are met, and providing guidance and support to production employees.
The ideal candidate is a strong communicator who leads by example, thrives in a fast-paced manufacturing environment, and is committed to safety, quality, and teamwork.
Duties
- Coordinate daily production activities to meet production, quality, and operational targets.
- Lead and support production employees while promoting teamwork and productivity.
- Ensure compliance with SOPs, GMP, HACCP, food safety, quality, and workplace safety standards.
- Monitor product quality, production checks, sanitation procedures, and equipment performance.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment while ensuring PPE and hygiene requirements are followed.
- Assign work, train employees, provide coaching, and support team development.
- Monitor ingredient usage, inventory, and FIFO practices.
- Communicate production, quality, staffing, and equipment issues with Supervisors and support teams.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Previous experience in a food manufacturing or production environment.
- Previous Lead Hand, Team Lead, or supervisory experience is considered an asset.
- Strong understanding of GMP, HACCP, food safety, sanitation, and workplace safety practices.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and perform the physical requirements of the role.
Compensation:
- Pay: $41,000 - $54,000 per year based on experience
- Overtime paid in accordance with BC Employment Standards
