Lead Hand, Autobody Technician
R.W. Tomlinson is seeking a skilled and motivated Lead Hand for our Autobody shop to join our team. This role offers a unique opportunity to work on a wide range of equipment including passenger vehicles, tri-axle trucks, heavy trucks, heavy equipment, and various construction machinery. DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Lead and direct employees on daily tasks and weekly schedules

Assign work and prioritize jobs to meet schedule

Train and mentor new and existing staff

Monitor employee performance and provide feedback

Monitor paint, supplies and inventory
-
Perform collision repairs on passenger vehicles, commercial trucks, tri-axles, heavy equipment, and other construction related equipment

Repair and replace damaged body panels, frames, and structural components
-
Complete metalwork, welding, sanding, filling, and refinishing preparation
-
Assist with paint preparation and finishing when required
-
Diagnose damage and develop repair plans to manufacturer and company standards
-
Maintain a clean, safe, and organized workspace
-
Work collaboratively with staff, vendors and management to meet deadlines
-
Ensure all repairs meet safety and quality standards
REQUIREMENTS:
-
Organized and able to lead a small team
-
Licensed Auto Body Technician or Apprentice would be an asset
-
Have own tools
-
Ability to climb on and off large equipment
-
Ability to operate required tools in a safe and responsible manner
-
Experience in Heavy Equipment maintenance and repair would be an asset
-
Punctual attendance with ability to work necessary hours on daily and weekly basis
