Job Type: Full-timeOverviewCompetitive Building Supply is looking for a dependable, customer-focused team member to support our building supply counter and assist in the yard as needed. This role is ideal for someone who knows residential building materials, is comfortable on a computer, and isn’t afraid to help load materials for customer pickups and deliveries.Responsibilities
- Serve contractors and homeowners at the counter with product selection and order support
- Use computer systems to create quotes, invoices, and process orders (training provided on our systems)
- Answer phones/emails and provide accurate product info and pricing
- Coordinate with the warehouse/yard team to pull and stage orders
- Help load materials for customer pickups and delivery trucks (yard support as needed)
- Keep the counter area organized and help maintain a clean, safe yard/work area
- Work with the team to ensure orders are accurate and customers are taken care of
Requirements (Must-Have)
- Strong computer skills (comfortable learning new systems, quoting/invoicing, email)
- Solid knowledge of residential building materials (lumber, fasteners, insulation, siding, windows/doors is a plus)
- Ability to lift and move materials and help load orders when required
- Reliable, punctual, and professional with customers
- Strong communication skills and attention to detail
Nice-to-Have
- Previous experience in a lumber yard / building supply store
- Forklift experience (or willingness to get certified)
- Contractor/customer service experience
