Who we are
MacLennan Serratore LLP is a, people-first law firm in Ottawa specializing in real estate development law – with a primary focus on condominium developments. Whether it’s acquiring land, coordinating with developers, or managing complex bulk closings, we are trusted advisors throughout the project lifecycle.
We have a team culture rooted in collaboration, flexibility, and accountability. At MacLennan Serratore LLP, everyone lends a hand. We support each other across roles, meet regularly to brainstorm improvements, and encourage growth at every level. Whether it’s a lawyer jumping in on administrative work or a clerk helping streamline operations, we pitch in where needed and value learning, transparency, and humour along the way.
The opportunity
We’re hiring a temporary Bookkeeper to cover a parental leave. Reporting to the Managing Partners, in this role you'll be responsible for managing daily trust transactions, issuing cheques, maintaining condo-specific financial records, and contributing to overall financial compliance. The employment term is expected to be 7 months, but may stretch beyond that.
As the ideal candidate, you are numerically savvy, detail-oriented, and eager to learn. You’re comfortable working independently but know how to contribute to a collaborative team. You take ownership, love process improvement, and care about getting the small things right.
We’re an agile and flexible team, so we’re open to hiring a term employee on a full-time schedule, or a self-employed independent bookkeeper who’s looking to fill 20+ hours/week.
Our staff have the freedom to work from home or from our office in Ottawa.
