YOU are ready for a change and are able to aim higher and work a little harder. You expect more from yourself and your colleagues. You have honed your IV skills for at least 1 year and meet these needs:
- RN with current registration & in good standing with the CNO
- RNAO member - insured
- CPR (ACLS, PALS would be great!)
- Acute Care Background is important; our nurses sometimes work independently with a specialist on call
- Competent with EMRs and electronic charting; we use Accuro EMR
- Technically savvy; documentation is within our EMR AND within Patient Support Program (PSP)web portals for reporting depending on the medication
- Energetic, willing to work day shifts (7:30 a.m. - 4 p.m.) afternoon shifts (e.g. 2:30 p.m. - 8 p.m.)
- Work one Saturday (day shift) per month
- Excellence in Intravenous Therapy with knowledge of Gastroenterology and Rheumatology ideal.

You respond to difficult situations appropriately and consistently. Working well as a member of an interdisciplinary team is essential; but so is being comfortable working autonomously.

Responsibilities Include:
- Delivery of high-quality patient care by assessing, monitoring, and responding to patients’ needs with empathy and professionalism.
- Educating and treating patients via Intravenous, Subcutaneous Injection or Intramuscular Injection with advanced therapeutic medications as prescribed for conditions including Rheumatoid Arthritis, Ulcerative Colitis, Psoriatic Arthritis, Crohn's Disease, Ankylosing Spondylitis, and medical procedures to ensure accuracy and comfort.
- Maintain accurate and detailed ELECTRONIC medical documentation in compliance with PHIPA and PIPEDA regulations to protect patient privacy.
- Manage and update medical records efficiently, ensuring all information is current, complete, and accessible for authorized personnel.
- Apply your knowledge of physiology and anatomy to support patient assessments effectively.
- Educate patients on health conditions, medication instructions, and follow-up care to promote understanding and adherence.
- Adhere strictly to all healthcare protocols, to safeguard patient information at all times.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in nursing or a related healthcare setting with a focus on patient care.
- Strong knowledge of physiology, anatomy, and medical terminology to accurately interpret clinical information.
- Confident with medical documentation practices and the management of electronic medical records (EMRs).
- Understanding of PHIPA regulations to ensure confidentiality and secure handling of sensitive health data.
- Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
- Certification as a registered nurse (RN) is required.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environments while maintaining attention to detail.

Pay: $38.00-$43.00 per hour
Expected hours: 35 – 44 per week
