Job Summary
We are seeking a friendly and efficient Barista to join our team.
The ideal candidate will provide exceptional customer service while preparing and serving high-quality beverages and food items. This role requires a positive attitude, strong attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Previous experience in food service or as a barista is preferred but not required; training will be provided. The position involves handling cash transactions, operating POS systems, and maintaining food safety standards to ensure a welcoming and safe experience for all customers.
Responsibilities
- MUST be able to create consistent, high-quality latte art and demonstrate proper milk texturing techniques. Applicants without latte art experience will not be considered.
- Prepare and serve a variety of coffee beverages, teas, and specialty drinks according to company recipes and standards
- Operate POS systems, including Micros POS, for accurate order processing and cash handling
- Take customer orders efficiently while providing excellent customer service
- Handle cash transactions accurately and process payments using cash or card
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the work area, including food preparation stations and dining spaces
- Assist with food preparation and serving food items as needed
- Follow food safety guidelines and proper food handling procedures at all times
- Manage time effectively during busy periods to ensure prompt service
- Restock supplies as necessary to ensure smooth operations throughout shifts
Skills
- Previous barista experience or background in food industry service preferred
- Strong customer service skills with a friendly, approachable demeanor
- Proficiency with POS systems
- Excellent time management skills to handle multiple orders efficiently
- Basic math skills for cash handling, giving correct change, and processing transactions accurately
- Knowledge of food safety standards and proper food handling procedures
- Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment
- Effective communication skills for interacting with customers and team members
- Experience with serving, food preparation, and general food service operations is a plus
