Job Summary
We are seeking a fast, efficient, and reliable Line Cook to join our culinary team. In this role, you will be responsible for preparing high-quality dishes, managing your station during high-volume service peaks, and maintaining strict food safety and sanitation standards. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment, communicates effectively with the front-of-house team, and takes pride in every plate they send out.
Key Responsibilities
- Food Preparation & Execution: Set up and stock stations with all necessary supplies. Cook menu items to exact specifications and recipe standards in cooperation with the rest of the kitchen staff.
- Pace & Efficiency: Execute orders quickly and accurately during high-volume lunch and dinner rushes.
- Quality Control: Ensure consistent plate presentation, correct portion sizes, and optimal food temperatures.
- Food Safety & Cleanliness: Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary workstation. Adhere to all local public health regulations, safe food handling protocols, and kitchen safety standards.
- Inventory & Waste Management: Properly store, label, and rotate food products (FIFO). Minimize waste through accurate portioning and efficient prep work.
- Teamwork: Coordinate seamlessly with prep cooks, dishwashers, and service staff to ensure a smooth, efficient operation.
- Adhere to all Shoeless Joe's culinary standards and systems
Qualifications
- Experience: 1–3 years of experience as a Line Cook or Prep Cook in a high-volume restaurant environment is preferred.
- Availability: flexible schedule including weekends and holidays
- Physical Stamina: Ability to stand for long periods, work in a hot kitchen environment, and lift up to 40 lbs.
- Attributes: A positive attitude, reliable, and the ability to handle high-stress situations with composure.
- Technical Skills: Strong knife skills and familiarity with various kitchen equipment (grills, fryers, flattops, and ovens) an asset
Pay: From $17.60 per hour
