Operate loaders to move, load and unload scaffolding equipment and materials used to construct and dismantle scaffolding structures on construction and industrial worksites.
Responsibilities:
- Load, unload and move scaffolding equipment and construction materials via loaders.
- Conduct pre-operational checks on equipment and clean, lubricate and refill equipment.
- Secure special attachments to equipment and perform minor repairs to equipment.
- Construct, install, and repair system scaffolding structures.
- Ensure all work is performed in compliance with safety regulations and industry standards.
- Collaborate with other construction professionals to deliver exceptional results.
- Understand the purpose, proper usage and information found on material safety data sheets (MSDS)

Minimum Requirements and Qualifications:
- Some secondary school education is required.
- Completion of a one- to two-year apprenticeship program or some high school, college or industry courses in heavy equipment operating combined with on-the-job training are required.
- Strong understanding of safety regulations and practices in the construction site environment.
- Ability to work outdoors in a physically demanding environment, all the time.
- Nova Scotia Class 5 Driver’s License and a clean driver’s abstract
- Strong interpersonal teamwork and customer service skills.
- Demonstrated commitment to safety.
- Experience with the operation of loaders and pallet jacks
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs unassisted.
- Ability to prioritize workload based on daily requirements.
- Able to communicate effectively and follow written and verbal instructions.
- Proficient use of iPhone/Android to track and record items (WhatsApp, text messaging, Asana & Outlook).
- Excellent problem-solving skills, good analytical ability and manual dexterity.
