Wye Liquor is seeking a friendly, organized, and customer-focused Store Assistant to join our team. Responsibilities
- Greet customers warmly and provide outstanding customer service to enhance their shopping experience
- Assist customers with product selection, offering knowledgeable recommendations and upselling where appropriate
- Operate POS systems accurately for cash handling, transactions, and inventory management
- Conduct product demos and educate customers about new or featured items to boost sales
- Maintain organized merchandise displays and ensure the store is clean, welcoming, and well-stocked
- Manage stock levels through merchandising and inventory checks
- Handle cashier duties including processing payments via cash, credit/debit cards, and digital transactions
- Communicate effectively with team members to coordinate tasks and ensure efficient store operations
- Utilize technology tools for sales tracking, inventory management, and customer engagement
- Uphold store policies regarding age verification and responsible alcohol sales
Skills
- Excellent communication skills in English; bilingual abilities are a plus for serving diverse customers
- Strong customer service orientation with the ability to engage positively with shoppers of all backgrounds
- Experience with retail sales, merchandising, POS systems, and cash handling procedures
- Ability to perform basic math accurately for transactions and inventory counts
- Demonstrated organizational skills to manage stock displays and maintain store cleanliness
- Proficiency in using technology for product demos, sales tracking, and inventory management
- Effective time management skills to prioritize tasks during busy periods
- Professional phone etiquette when assisting customers over the phone or via digital communication
- Sales-driven mindset with the ability to upsell products tactfully and confidently
- Ability to work efficiently both independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
