Leon’s Furniture Ltd. (“LFL Group”) is seeking an experienced Business Development Manager to drive growth at its Financial Services divisions specializing in Insurance and Extended Warranty.
The LFL Group has wholly owned subsidiaries and regulated insurance companies that have been providing world-class protection products to Canadians from coast to coast for over 25 years.
The mandate for this role is to lead growth initiatives for both organizations by building long‑term, sustainable, and mutually beneficial partnerships for the distribution of protection products.
Location & Commitments:
This position may be based in Edmonton or Toronto. All candidates must be legally eligible to work in Canada.
Responsibilities:
Business Development & Growth
Manage the full business development lifecycle, including market research, prospecting, qualification, proposal development, negotiation, and closing.- Identify and pursue new opportunities for insurance and warranty solutions, including cross‑sell and bundled‑program possibilities.
- Build and maintain a strong sales pipeline with clear forecasting and reporting.
Client Relationship Management
Develop new partnerships and strengthen existing relationships across retail, finance, automotive, fintech, and other strategic sectors.- Understand client needs and challenges, translating them into effective insurance and warranty program solutions.
- Act as a consultative partner, demonstrating how protection products deliver measurable value.
Proposal, Product & Market Support
Recommend product design, pricing strategies, risk mitigation approaches, and contractual considerations using sound business judgment.- Collaborate with internal teams to ensure proposals meet client requirements and align with our value propositions.
- Prepare and deliver clear, compelling client presentations and product education sessions.
- Enhance sales and presentation materials in collaboration with the management team.
Strategic Collaboration
Contribute to the development and execution of the company’s strategic business development plan.- Stay current on trends in insurance, warranty, and financial services, sharing insights with leadership.
- Support cross‑functional initiatives that enhance the client experience and expand market presence.
Other
Achieve revenue and growth targets outlined in the strategic plan.
- Travel 20–30% as required to support business objectives
