Education:
High School diploma or equivalent. Automotive Service Technician (Journeyman) certification OR proof of enrollment in apprenticeship program (minimum Level 3). MVI certification required for journeymen. Other automotive training is an asset. First Aid & WHMIS to be completed within three-month probationary period. Apprentices must commit to complete their apprenticeship program within five (5) years of starting employment with WSC.
Skills: Basic computer/Internet skills. Knowledge of automotive hardware and diagnostic/repair procedures is required. Additional training/specialization is an asset.

Responsibilities
- Diagnose vehicle issues and repair. Verify proper vehicle function following repairs
- Document diagnostic process/conclusions /required repairs/recommendations
- Communicate w/service advisor re: next steps in diagnosis/repair
- Communicate w/service advisors re: low inventory/need to reorder
- Interact with clients as required to explain diagnosis
- Road-test vehicles alone or with client/colleague to diagnose issues
- Assist with locating replacement parts and estimating repair time requirements
- Keep technician bays clean and tidy, and free of any safety hazards
- Use proper disposal methods of any automotive fluids or aerosols; dispose of parts and supplies’ containers according to proper Valley Waste protocols
- Keep common areas clean
- Transport clients as requested
- Retrieve parts from suppliers as requested

Pay: $17.50-$30.00 per hour
Work Location: In person
