Red River Forage is growing! We are hiring 2 new year round positions for our alfalfa processing facility available to start immediately. The job would entail managing and doing maintenance on the alfalfa processing facility. Experience with mechanics/repairs and a sharp problem solving personality would be required. Hours would be shift work with regular time off and vacation time. A full training program is available for the right applicant.
The plant manager is expected to take initiative in insuring smooth and efficient operations, doing regular repairs and maintenance and managing a team of 2-3 other plant operators. The alfalfa plant is expected to run year round with some down time for maintenance during winter time.
Qualifications:
- Mechanical repair experience
- Some electrical experience
- Problem solving abilities
- Ability to manage a small team of people
Position will be supported by a fulltime mechanic, farm manager and other experienced plant managers. Considering the growth of the company there is a large amount of future career advancement potential for a candidate who is capable and willing to take over responsibility.
Compensation will range between $30-$50/hr depending on experience with most candidates expected to be in the $30-$40/hour range (plus vacation, full benefits, etc). Free housing accommodations and free meals are supplied on work days. To reach the top of the compensation range the candidate must have electrical/engineering experience and/or have extensive management abilities. Future career opportunities may include “Farm Manager” or “Lead Plant Manager”.
