Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Registered Veterinary Technician to join our veterinary team. The ideal candidate will play a vital role in providing high-quality medical care to our animal patients, supporting veterinarians, and ensuring a positive experience for pet owners. This position offers an opportunity to work in a collaborative environment committed to animal health and well-being. Candidates with laboratory experience are highly preferred, as this skill enhances diagnostic capabilities and patient care.
Must be able to travel to Mercy Animal Hospital when necessary.
Duties
- Assist veterinarians with medical examinations, treatments, and surgical procedures
- Administer medications, vaccines, and treatments as prescribed
- Perform laboratory tests, including blood work, urinalysis, radiographs and other diagnostics to aid in diagnosis and treatment planning
- Collect and process samples accurately while maintaining proper documentation
- Monitor anesthesia and patient recovery during surgical procedures
- Educate pet owners on post-treatment care and preventive health measures
- Maintain clean and sterile treatment areas, surgical suites, and laboratory spaces
- Support inventory management by ordering supplies and ensuring proper storage
- Provide compassionate patient care by monitoring vital signs and responding to urgent needs
Experience
- Valid licensure as a Veterinary Technician in accordance with state requirements
- Prior laboratory experience is highly desirable to support diagnostic testing processes
- Experience working in a veterinary clinic or hospital setting preferred but not required; training will be provided for specific protocols
- Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with team members and educate pet owners
- Ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently while maintaining attention to detail in a fast-paced environment

Pay: $19.41-$36.03 per hour
