Apprentice Plumber- On-Site
Job Description
Our client is a leader in innovative water treatment solutions and is hiring an Apprentice Plumber based in Calgary. You’ll be assembling potable and waste-water treatment plants, working on commercial projects, reading P&IDs, using tools, and keeping job sites clean and organized. This role includes travel to different sites, giving you the chance to gain diverse hands-on experience.

Key Responsibilities
· Locating and identifying leaks.
· Repairing or replacing pipes and parts.
· Determining the right tools and equipment necessary to successfully complete a job.
· Assisting with preparing cost estimates for clients.
· Helping the Plumber to ensure that all work is in accordance with local plumbing codes.
· Cleaning the job site after the work is completed.
· Following the Project Manager/Plumbers' instructions.
Accountability and Decision Making:
· Scope and magnitude of financial, budgetary, cost, employee responsibility and decision- making.
· Issuing PO’s to field contractors as required for on-site services. PO’s to be approved by client office.
Education and experience:
· MUST have 2-3 years of experience combined with education, designations or certifications.
· Must have 1-2 years’ experience in installation or maintenance.
· Registered in the apprenticeship program.
Skills and competencies:
· Valid Driver’s License and Safety Tickets.
· Current 3-year driver’s abstract required.
· Must be reliable and punctual.
· Good communication skills, both written and verbal.
· Organized and the ability to multi-task.
· Ability to meet job requirements with little daily supervision.
· Ability to organize and maintain accurate equipment files.
· Excellent attitude toward workplace safety. Must be a positive team player with a strong work ethic.
· Computer knowledge & skills in Word, Excel, and Outlook.
· Good Mechanical Aptitude.
· Operator tickets such as Telehandler, Aerial Work Platform and Skid Steer would be considered an asset.
· Commitment to maintaining a substance-free workplace, including successful completion of pre-employment screening.
Position Details
- Type: Full-time, permanent
- Shifts: 10-hour shifts
- Wage: $20–$35 per hour (overtime eligible)
