Overview
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Tool and Die Maker to join our team in the plastic manufacturing industry. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, building, and maintaining precision tools, dies, and molds essential for high-quality production processes. Duties
- Design and develop tooling, dies, and molds using CAD software such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, and CAD programs.
- Operate CNC machinery including CNC lathe, CNC milling machines, and other machining equipment to produce precise components.
- Read and interpret schematics, technical drawings, and blueprints to ensure accurate fabrication of tools.
- Program CNC machines utilizing CNC programming skills to produce complex parts with tight tolerances.
- Perform machining operations with hand tools, calipers, and other measuring instruments to ensure dimensional accuracy.
- Assemble components of tools and dies with precision, ensuring proper fit and function.
- Conduct welding and finishing processes as needed to complete tooling assemblies.
- Maintain detailed documentation of manufacturing processes, schematics, and inspection reports.
- Troubleshoot tooling issues during production runs to minimize downtime.
- Follow safety protocols and maintain a clean work environment.
Experience
- Proven experience as a Tool and Die Maker or in a similar manufacturing role within the plastic industry.
- Proficiency in CAD software such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or similar CAD programs.
- Strong knowledge of CNC programming and operation of CNC lathe, CNC milling machine, and other machining equipment.
- Mechanical aptitude with hands-on experience using hand tools, calipers, schematics, and welding equipment.
- Familiarity with manufacturing processes related to plastic molding and tooling design.
- Ability to read technical drawings, schematics, and mathematical calculations relevant to tool design.
- Experience with assembly procedures for complex tooling components is preferred. This position requires a dedicated professional committed to precision craftsmanship and continuous improvement within a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Pay: $20.00-$24.00 per hour
