Job Overview
We are seeking a friendly and dependable Cashier - Prep Cook Helper to join our dynamic team. This role combines customer service with food preparation duties, supporting the smooth operation of our restaurant. The ideal candidate will have a passion for food service, excellent communication skills, and a positive attitude. This position offers an opportunity to gain valuable experience in the food industry while contributing to a welcoming dining environment. We are seeking for staff who can stay with us long term (not summer only). Weekdays availability is needed.
Duties
- Greet customers warmly and handle all cashier transactions efficiently
- Take and process customer orders accurately at the register
- Assist with food preparation, including chopping, assembling, and portioning ingredients
- Support cooking activities as needed, ensuring meals are prepared according to safety and quality standards
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the prep area and kitchen stations
- Follow food safety guidelines during handling, storage, and serving of food items
- Restock supplies and ingredients to ensure smooth kitchen operations
- Assist with basic meal preparation tasks under the supervision of kitchen staff
- Provide excellent customer service by answering questions and addressing customer needs
Requirements
- Previous experience in food service, restaurant, or kitchen environments is preferred but not required
- Knowledge of food handling, safety procedures, and meal preparation techniques
- Strong serving skills with a focus on customer satisfaction
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
- Good communication skills and a positive attitude
- Ability to stand for extended periods and perform physical tasks such as lifting up to 40 pounds if necessary
- Willingness to learn new skills related to food preparation and service
- Prior experience in food industry roles such as cashier or prep cook is advantageous but not mandatory
Pay: From $18.00 per hour
