SHALLOW UTILITIES SUPERVISOR
M&M Excavating Services Ltd. is a civil construction company based in the Fraser Valley Region and surrounding areas. We are seeking a Foreman designated for shallow utilities installation of hydro, Telus, Shaw, streetlighting and gas. You will be responsible for, but not restricted to, leading a crew in a safe working environment, leading a crew in a safe working environment, the supervision and coordination of the site personnel and subcontrators, the reporting of all relevant site activities and managing the quality and safety of work performed, well rounded in reading drawings, provide layout from working drawings, set elevations and grades for roads, underground utilities, onsite planning to meet schedule and budget goals, coordinate sub-contractors, problem solve through coordination with Upper Management and Engineering Professionals and able to work under pressure to meet contractual agreements.
Job Requirements:
- Valid BC driver's license and reliable transportation required
- Minimum of 3 years experience in the civil construction sector
- Must have a First Aid Level 1 and any other tickets relative to the tasks they are supervising (i.e. Confined Space, Rigging, Excavation Safety and Fall Protection)
- Strong Leadership
- Able to work under pressure and work long hours as required
- Physically fit and able to provide hands on assistance
- Must be safety orientated, self-motivated and work well with others
- Must be reliable, dependable and punctual
- Strong people/supervision skills, together with an ability to communicate effectively with others at all levels are important. Sound planning and organization skills are essential in this role.
Job Details:
- Full time position expecting to start ASAP
- Expected to work 40-50 hours per week
- Work is generally limited to the Fraser Valley, but not limited to Chilliwack to Surrey
- Overtime may be necessary
