Job Purpose
The Front Desk Attendant is responsible for greeting visitors, responding to inquiries, and performing administrative duties to support the daily operations of the office. This role ensures a professional and welcoming environment for residents, guests, and staff.
An effective Receptionist has strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and excellent communication abilities. This person provides administrative support while maintaining a high level of customer service.
Duties and Responsibilities
Overall Responsibilities:
● Greet visitors and assist with inquiries
● Assist residents with various requests, including but not limited to distributing delivered medications, calling taxis, adjusting input on tv, phoning emergency services and personal contacts, meal changes, guest meals, etc.
● Ensure key staff members are aware of residents who are ill and needing room service
● Ensure key staff members are aware of any and all incidents
● Answer phone calls and direct messages appropriately
● Handle cash transactions and balance accounts for various departments
● Create and maintain daily, weekly, and monthly reports
● Process resident payments and record invoices in Microsoft Excel
● Maintain office supplies and ensure equipment is functional
● Keep a printed stock of marketing packages available
● Organize and manage filing systems
● Assist residents with various requests
● Respond to emergency call systems and direct requests accordingly
● Ensure message boards are updated and functioning properly
● Assist with general administrative tasks as directed by the Executive Director & Department Managers
● Attend staff meetings and collaborate with other team members
● Represent the company professionally in all interactions
● Perform other duties as assigned
Key Qualifications
● Experience in reception, office administration, bookkeeping, or tenant relations
● Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel
● Experience working with older adults (preferred)
● If the role interacts directly with vulnerable populations: Clear city, provincial, or out-of-province criminal record check

Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $19.25-$20.00 per hour
