Overview
We are seeking a professional and organized Dental Receptionist to join our dental practice. The ideal candidate will serve as the first point of contact for patients, providing exceptional customer service while managing administrative tasks efficiently. This role requires strong communication skills, familiarity with dental office procedures, and proficiency with electronic medical records systems. Prior experience in a dental or medical office setting is highly preferred. The Dental Receptionist plays a vital role in ensuring smooth daily operations and a positive patient experience.
Duties
- Greet patients warmly and professionally upon arrival and departure
- Manage multi-line phone systems to schedule appointments, answer inquiries, and confirm patient visits
- Maintain accurate patient records using electronic medical records software such as Dentrix and Epic
- Verify insurance information and assist with billing and coding processes
- Collect payments and process transactions efficiently at the front desk
- Prepare and update patient files, ensuring all documentation is complete and current
- Coordinate appointment scheduling to optimize office workflow
- Assist with administrative tasks including filing, data entry, and correspondence
- Ensure the front desk area remains organized, clean, and welcoming
- Support the team with other administrative duties as needed to ensure smooth office operations
Experience
- Previous experience as a dental receptionist or in a medical office environment is highly desirable
- Familiarity with dental practice management software such as Dentrix or Epic is preferred
- Knowledge of medical terminology relevant to dental care is advantageous
- Strong office experience including handling multi-line phone systems and front desk responsibilities
- Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail
- Ability to communicate effectively with patients, staff, and insurance providers
- Prior experience working with electronic medical records (EMRs) or electronic health records (EHRs) is beneficial
