About Finding Focus
Finding Focus is a Canadian virtual clinic focused on ADHD assessment, treatment and ongoing care.
We work with adults who are looking for answers about ADHD and support managing its impact on their daily lives. Our clinical team provides ADHD assessments, medication management, follow up care and ongoing treatment to patients across multiple provinces.
We are now expanding our services to include ADHD focused therapy and executive function support.
Our goal is to give patients access to both the medical and practical sides of ADHD care. While our medical team supports assessment and treatment, our therapy program will help patients work through the behavioural, emotional and day to day challenges that often continue after diagnosis.
About the Role
We are looking for a Registered Social Worker or Registered Psychotherapist with experience working with adults with ADHD.
This is a virtual role focused on practical, skills based therapy.
You will work with patients on challenges such as procrastination, time management, organization, motivation, emotional regulation, anxiety, overwhelm, avoidance and difficulty following through.
Sessions may include CBT, psychoeducation, behavioural strategies, emotional regulation work and executive function support depending on the needs of each patient.
We are looking for someone who understands that ADHD therapy often needs to be practical. Patients may need help understanding patterns and emotions, but they also need realistic strategies, structure and systems they can use in everyday life.
What You Will Work On
Your caseload will primarily consist of adults with ADHD or ADHD related concerns.
Common areas of support may include:
- Procrastination and task initiation
- Time management and planning
- Organization and prioritization
- Motivation and follow through
- Emotional regulation
- Anxiety and overwhelm
- Avoidance
- Negative thought patterns and self criticism
- Building routines and sustainable habits
- Work and school performance
- Relationship challenges related to ADHD
- Executive functioning skills
- Adjustment following a new ADHD diagnosis
You will have the flexibility to use your clinical judgment and therapeutic approach based on the needs of each patient.
Qualifications
We are primarily looking for an MSW, RSW registered in good standing with the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers.
Registered Psychotherapists in good standing with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario may also be considered, particularly where the candidate has strong ADHD and CBT experience.
You should have:
- Experience working with adults with ADHD or executive functioning challenges
- Training and experience providing CBT or CBT informed therapy
- A strong understanding of how ADHD affects daily functioning
- Experience supporting anxiety, emotional regulation, avoidance or related concerns
- Comfort combining psychotherapy with practical executive function strategies
- Professional liability insurance
- Experience providing virtual care
- Strong clinical documentation and communication skills
Experience with ACT, DBT skills, motivational interviewing or other evidence based approaches is an asset but is not required.
Cross Provincial Practice
Finding Focus currently provides care to patients in Ontario, Manitoba, Saskatchewan and Alberta.
The successful candidate must be willing and eligible to obtain any additional professional registrations or authorizations required to provide virtual services to patients located in the provinces we serve.
You do not need to already hold registrations in every province when applying.
Finding Focus will support the process and cover approved registration fees required for you to provide services to Finding Focus patients in these jurisdictions.
Clinicians are responsible for maintaining their registrations in good standing and practising within the requirements of the province in which each patient is located.
What Finding Focus Provides
Finding Focus provides the infrastructure around your clinical work so you can focus on seeing patients.
We provide:

- Appointment booking
- Payment collection
- Patient receipts
- Administrative support
- Electronic medical record access
- Virtual care infrastructure
- An established population of patients seeking ADHD specific support
Many of the patients referred to you will already have a relationship with Finding Focus through ADHD assessment, medication management or ongoing care.
You will not be expected to build your own patient base or independently market your services.
Patient Billing and Receipts
Finding Focus handles payment collection and patient receipts.
Receipts for sessions you provide will identify you as the treating clinician and include your professional designation and registration information where appropriate.
Patients are responsible for confirming whether services are eligible for reimbursement under their individual insurance or employee benefits plan.
Schedule
Finding Focus operates Monday to Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. ET and Saturdays from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. ET.
As an independent contractor, you will provide your availability within these operating hours.
We anticipate approximately 8 to 15 patient sessions per week to start, with the opportunity to increase your caseload as the program grows.
We are particularly interested in clinicians who can offer some evening or Saturday availability, as these appointment times are often in demand, but there is no requirement to be available for all clinic operating hours.
Compensation
Compensation is $90 to $105 per completed 50 minute session, based on experience, credentials and ADHD specific training.
Finding Focus handles patient acquisition, booking, payment collection, administrative support and the clinical infrastructure required to support your caseload.
Help Us Build the Program
ADHD therapy and executive function support is a new area of growth for Finding Focus.
As one of the first therapists joining this part of the clinic, you will also have an opportunity to provide input into how the program develops and how we can best support patients beyond assessment and medication management.
We are particularly interested in someone who enjoys ADHD focused work and wants to build deeper expertise in this area.
