Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Drywall Taper/Finisher to join our dynamic construction team. MUST HAVE AT LEAST 10 YEARS of experience.
In this role, you will be responsible for applying joint compound, sanding, and finishing drywall surfaces to create smooth, seamless walls and ceilings that meet high-quality standards. Your expertise will contribute to the successful completion of residential, commercial, and restoration projects. Responsibilities
- Apply joint compound (mud) accurately and efficiently to drywall seams, screw holes, and surface imperfections.
- Sand finished surfaces smoothly to prepare for painting or further finishing work.
- Install drywall panels securely using appropriate fasteners and techniques.
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and construction plans to ensure precise application of finishing techniques.
- Perform related tasks such as caulking, trim carpentry, and fixture installation to enhance overall project quality.
- Assist with water damage restoration, mold remediation, and other repair projects as needed.
- Maintain a clean work area, adhere to safety protocols, and ensure all tools and materials are used properly.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in drywall finishing, taping, or plastering on construction sites.
- Knowledge of construction estimating, blueprint reading, schematics, and various building materials including stucco and metal stud framing.
- Skilled in related trades such as carpentry, masonry, flooring installation, painting (including airless spray), tile laying, and remodeling.
- Familiarity with construction plumbing, water damage restoration, mold remediation, and fixture installation is a plus.
- Strong understanding of safety procedures on construction sites and ability to work efficiently both independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent hand-eye coordination with attention to detail; ability to read technical drawings accurately.
