LGG Industrial is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Accountant to join our Finance team in Langley, BC. This position plays an integral role in supporting the accounting and financial reporting activities for LGG LP, a subsidiary of LGG Industrial.
Reporting to the Business Unit Controller, the Accountant will assist with monthly financial close, account reconciliations, financial analysis, cash management, tax filings, budgeting, audits, and other accounting projects. This role directly supports the Canada Business Unit Controller and Corporate Controller with the day-to-day accounting activities for LGG Canada and the Goodall Manufacturing facility.
The ideal candidate is an organized, analytical accounting professional who can manage multiple priorities, meet established deadlines, and work independently. Strong Microsoft Excel skills and previous experience working with ERP or financial reporting systems are essential.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain a 100% commitment to LGG Industrial’s safety policies and procedures.
- Perform general accounting and monthly closing activities for LGG Canada and the Goodall Manufacturing facility.
- Prepare and submit monthly financial results and reports using Prophet 21, Prelude, Vena, and other accounting systems.
- Analyze profit and loss account variances, financial trends, and business performance.
- Prepare and complete reconciliations for balance sheet accounts.
- Maintain accurate accrual records and supporting documentation.
- Support cash management activities, including cash-flow monitoring and online banking approvals.
- Assist with account coding responsibilities for LGG Canada’s Accounts Payable department.
- Manage and review Concur employee expense claims.
- Maintain Motus automobile allowance reporting.
- Support Accounts Payable activities for DeeTag, an LGG sister company, including vendor invoices, payments, and account reconciliations.
- Prepare monthly indirect tax calculations, filings, and payments.
- Process federal tax instalment payments through the online banking platform.
- Prepare recurring and ad hoc financial reports for leadership.
- Assist with the preparation of information required for annual income tax filings.
- Support annual bank audits, financial audits, and related documentation requests.
- Assist with the annual budgeting and forecasting process.
- Identify opportunities to improve productivity, reporting accuracy, and accounting processes through technology and operational efficiencies.
- Assist management with financial analysis, special projects, and other accounting-related assignments.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is required.
- CPA designation or progress toward a CPA designation is considered an asset.
- Minimum of two years of public accounting and/or industry accounting experience.
- Previous experience using an ERP system is required.
- Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP functions, formulas, and data analysis.
- Experience with Prophet 21, Prelude, Vena, SoftCo, Concur, or Motus is an asset.
- Experience with month-end close, financial reporting, balance sheet reconciliations, accruals, and variance analysis is preferred.
