About KOM Community Policing Centre
The Kerrisdale–Oakridge–Marpole (KOM) Community Policing Centre (CPC) is a volunteer-driven, non-profit organization focused on enhancing safety, connection, and community well-being across South Vancouver. Working closely with the Vancouver Police Department and other community stakeholders, KOM CPC engages residents in crime prevention, safety education, and community-building initiatives. This role offers a leadership opportunity to strengthen partnerships between residents, local businesses, law enforcement, and government entities, fostering a collaborative and safer neighbourhood.
Position Overview
Reporting to the Board of Directors, the Executive Director (ED) is responsible for the strategic leadership, daily operational management, and overall vision of KOM CPC. The ED leads a committed team of staff and volunteers, cultivating a positive, inclusive, and supportive work environment that encourages growth, teamwork, and high morale. The ED will manage program delivery, organizational development, and act as the primary liaison with VPD and community partners.

Key Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership & Administration
- Provide strategic leadership and operational oversight, ensuring organizational goals and community priorities are effectively achieved.
- Supervise staff and volunteers, fostering a welcoming and empowering work environment that promotes shared goals and professional development
- Oversee all office administration, compliance with health and safety policies, and organizational governance
Community Engagement & Partnerships
- Build and sustain productive relationships with community members, businesses, schools, law enforcement, and governmental partners
- Represent KOM CPC at community meetings, public events, and collaborative initiatives
- Lead public outreach and communication efforts through presentations, media, and social media platforms
- Collaborate on initiatives that address crime prevention, safety awareness, and volunteer recruitment and retention
Financial Management & Resource Development
- Direct budgeting, financial planning, and resource allocation in partnership with the Board Treasurer
- Lead preparation of grant applications, funding proposals, and donor relations to secure and sustain program funding
- Manage contractual agreements and funding compliance with the Vancouver Police Department
- Ensure financial integrity, prepare reports, and maintain transparent record-keeping
Governance & Reporting
- Support the Board of Directors in strategic planning, policy development, and organizational decision-making
- Provide regular updates to the Board on operational and financial performance, ensuring accountability and informed governance
- Prepare and submit the annual report to the Vancouver Police Department, documenting program activities, financials, and community outcomes in accordance with funding requirements
Organizational Growth & Innovation
- Identify and implement strategies to increase volunteer involvement and community participation
- Stay informed on emerging community safety trends and innovative approaches to policing and engagement
- Promote equity, diversity, and inclusion as core values across all organizational practices and programs
Qualifications
- Proven leadership experience within non-profit, community safety, or public service sectors
- Demonstrated ability to manage and motivate staff and volunteer teams collaboratively
- Strong financial acumen, including budgeting, fundraising, and grant administration
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with experience in public speaking and community relations
- Understanding of community policing principles and familiarity with Vancouver’s local demographics preferred
- Post-secondary education in public administration, criminology, or a related discipline is an asset
- Deep commitment to fostering community engagement, safety, and an inclusive environment
- Preferred candidate will have knowledge of and successful experience at VPD Community Policing Centres.

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $65,000.00-$75,000.00 per year
