Brandt Industries Canada Ltd. is currently looking for Machinists for our Regina location.
The Machinist sets up and operates lathes, milling machines, and boring mills to produce and repair precision components. This role interprets blueprints, selects appropriate tooling and machining parameters, and determines suitable repair methods for customer workpieces. The Machinist performs routine equipment maintenance and delivers high-quality results in a low-volume, quality-focused environment while working collaboratively within a team setting.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE BUT NOT LIMITED TO:
- Read, understand, and interpret blueprints.
- Work to tolerances plus or minus 1 thousandth of an inch.
- Set up fixtures and work pieces in lathes, boring mills, and milling machines.
- Operate lathes, milling machines, and boring mills.
- Select appropriate cutting tools and machining procedures.
- Select appropriate machining parameters (machine feeds and speeds).
- Assess customer work pieces and determine appropriate repairs.
- Maintain standard maintenance procedures on lathes, milling machines, and boring mills.
- Work in a low volume, high quality environment.
- Work in a team environment.
- Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS:
- Minimum of 3 years’ practical experience in the machining trade required.
- Familiar with conventional as well as CNC machining.
- Experience on lathes considered an asset.
- Ability to program in G-code considered an asset.
- Knowledge of Fanuc, has, Siemens, and Mazak controls considered an asset.
- Journeyperson’s certificate from a recognized machining trade school required.
