Personal Support Worker
Job Summary
We are seeking compassionate and dedicated Personal Support Workers (PSWs) to provide high-quality care and assistance to individuals in various settings, including assisted living facilities, nursing homes, and private homes. The ideal candidate will support clients with daily activities, promote independence, and ensure their safety and well-being. This role offers an opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of those requiring personal care and support.
Duties
- Assist clients with activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support
- Provide medication administration as prescribed and monitor for any adverse reactions
- Support clients with meal preparation and nutritional needs
- Assist with light housekeeping tasks to maintain a clean and safe environment
- Offer companionship and emotional support to clients, fostering a respectful and caring relationship
- Help clients with mobility and transfers, ensuring safety at all times
- Monitor clients’ health status and report any changes or concerns to healthcare professionals
- Support clients with specialized needs such as dementia or disabilities, following care plans accurately
Qualifications
- Prior experience in assisted living, nursing homes, or home care is highly desirable
- Experience working with individuals with disabilities or seniors preferred
- Knowledge of dementia care and medication administration is a plus
- Compassionate nature with excellent caregiving skills
- Ability to perform light cleaning and meal preparation tasks
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team
- Valid certification or training in caregiving or home health aide is advantageous but not mandatory
- Must be reliable, patient, and committed to providing respectful, person-centered care
Pay: $17.92-$29.46 per hour
