Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Ophthalmic Technician to join our team. In this role, you will play a vital part in providing exceptional patient care within our ophthalmology practice. You will assist ophthalmologists in various clinical tasks, ensuring a smooth and efficient workflow while delivering high-quality service to our patients.
Duties
- Perform preliminary eye exams and gather patient history, including medical terminology relevant to eye care.
- Assist with diagnostic testing, including visual field tests, tonometry, retinal imaging, and corneal topography.
- Maintain and update electronic medical records (EMR) accurately using systems such as Accuro.
- Provide exceptional patient care by addressing patient inquiries and concerns with professionalism.
- Educate patients on pre-operative and post-operative care instructions.
- Ensure compliance with safety protocols and maintain cleanliness in the clinical environment.
Qualifications
- Strong understanding of medical terminology related to ophthalmology is preferred.
- Experience with electronic medical records systems, particularly Accuro, is highly desirable.
- Previous experience in a medical office setting or front desk operations is beneficial.
- Experience working with pediatric patients is advantageous but not required.
- Excellent communication skills and a compassionate approach to patient care are essential.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment while maintaining attention to detail.
