Job Summary
PROlocker is looking for an experienced Cabinetmaker / Architectural Millworker to join our manufacturing team in Ottawa.
We design and manufacture high-end custom athletic lockers for professional sports teams, universities, colleges, schools, and athletic facilities throughout Canada and the United States.
This is not repetitive kitchen cabinet production. Our projects are custom and constantly changing, involving a variety of materials, hardware, CNC-machined components, lighting, ventilation, upholstery, and specialty features.
We are looking for someone with real cabinetmaking, millwork, or furniture-building experience who is comfortable working independently from drawings and producing high-quality finished work.
Responsibilities
- Read and interpret shop drawings, dimensions, and technical drawings
- Assemble custom lockers, cabinets, benches, and related millwork
- Cut, machine, fit, and assemble cabinet components
- Work with plywood, laminate, melamine, veneer, solid wood, and other materials
- Install hardware including hinges, drawer slides, locks, hooks, and specialty components
- Operate woodworking equipment and power tools safely and accurately
- Inspect your own work and maintain a high standard of fit and finish
- Assist with custom fabrication and problem-solving when projects require non-standard solutions
- On-site locker installation
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area

We are specifically looking for applicants with professional cabinetmaking, architectural millwork, furniture manufacturing, or similar shop experience.
Ideal candidates will have:
- 3+ years of professional cabinetmaking or architectural millwork experience
- Strong cabinet assembly and woodworking skills
- Ability to read and work from shop drawings
- Experience using woodworking machinery and power tools
- Experience with laminate, plywood, melamine, veneer, and edge-banded components
- Good understanding of cabinet hardware and installation
- Strong attention to detail and pride in workmanship
- Ability to work independently and solve problems
- Locker or athletic equipment experience is not required — we will teach you our products and manufacturing methods
What We Offer
- Full-time, permanent position
- Competitive hourly wage based on cabinetmaking experience and skill level
- Opportunity for wage increases as additional skills and responsibilities are learned
- Interesting custom projects rather than repetitive production
- Opportunity to develop CNC, manufacturing, installation, and technical skills
- Work on locker rooms for professional, university, college, and other athletic organizations across North America
