Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Floor Installer to join our construction team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for installing various types of flooring, including tile, hardwood, and laminate, ensuring high-quality workmanship and adherence to project specifications. Duties
- Measure and prepare surfaces for flooring installation based on project plans and blueprints
- Use hand tools and power tools to cut, shape, and install flooring materials accurately
- Lay tiles, hardwood, laminate, or other flooring materials in accordance with manufacturer instructions and industry standards
- Read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings to ensure precise installation
- Perform surface preparation tasks such as leveling, sanding, and cleaning subfloors
- Apply caulking or sealants as needed to ensure a finished appearance and prevent moisture intrusion
- Assist with carpentry tasks related to flooring installation or subfloor repairs
- Maintain a clean work area, ensuring safety protocols are followed at all times
- Collaborate with team members and project managers to meet deadlines and quality standards
Requirements
- Proven experience in flooring installation, tile laying, or related construction work
- Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and basic carpentry techniques
- Ability to read blueprints and interpret technical drawings accurately
- Knowledge of construction safety practices and proper use of personal protective equipment
- Handyman experience or general construction background is a plus
- Strong attention to detail and craftsmanship skills
- Physical ability to lift heavy materials, stand for extended periods, and perform physically demanding tasks
- Prior experience with caulking, surface preparation, and subfloor repairs is desirable
