Rope Access Maintenance Inc. (RAM) is seeking experienced Swing Stage Technicians for a major concrete restoration project in Toronto.
This is a hands-on construction position performed primarily from swing stages and suspended work platforms. The successful candidate will complete concrete repairs, surface preparation, waterproofing, coatings, sealant work, and other exterior restoration activities at height.
Applicants should have practical swing-stage experience and be comfortable performing physically demanding construction work in an exposed, high-rise environment.

Duties and Responsibilities
The Swing Stage Technician will be responsible for:
- Performing concrete restoration, maintenance, repair, waterproofing, coating, and construction work from swing stages.
- Working safely from suspended work platforms in accordance with site procedures, equipment instructions, engineered plans, and supervisor direction.
- Completing concrete chipping, grinding, surface preparation, patching, forming, finishing, and related repair work.
- Applying waterproofing products, membranes, coatings, sealants, caulking, and repair materials.
- Preparing tools, materials, equipment, and work areas before each shift.
- Using grinders, chipping hammers, drills, hand tools, power tools, and other construction equipment.
- Inspecting personal protective equipment, fall-protection equipment, tools, and assigned equipment before use.
- Maintaining independent fall protection while working from a suspended platform.
- Assisting with the positioning, movement, adjustment, and daily preparation of swing-stage equipment within the limits of the employee’s training.
- Following fall-protection plans, emergency procedures, rescue plans, safe-work procedures, and site-specific instructions.
- Maintaining awareness of weather conditions, dropped-object hazards, changing site conditions, public exposure, and equipment concerns.
- Installing and maintaining barriers, debris containment, signage, tool tethering, and public-protection measures.
- Keeping tools, materials, and work areas clean, organized, and properly secured.
- Completing required inspection records, photographs, quality-control documentation, and material tracking.
- Communicating effectively with supervisors, forepersons, access personnel, and other crew members.
- Reporting unsafe conditions, equipment concerns, incidents, deficiencies, or changes in the planned work immediately.
- Completing work to the company’s workmanship, productivity, safety, and professional-conduct standards.
- Performing other construction and project-support duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
Applicants must have:
- Practical swing-stage or suspended-work-platform experience.
- Experience completing construction, restoration, maintenance, or repair work at height.
- Valid Ontario Working at Heights training.
- Swing-stage or suspended-work-platform training appropriate to the assigned work.
- Familiarity with full-body harnesses, lifelines, rope grabs, personal fall-arrest systems, and equipment inspections.
- Experience using common construction hand tools and power tools.
- The physical ability to perform demanding construction work while wearing fall-protection equipment.
- The ability to follow engineered procedures, safe-work plans, manufacturer instructions, and supervisor direction.
- Strong communication skills, situational awareness, reliability, and attention to detail.
- The ability to work cooperatively as part of a construction crew.
- Full-time availability throughout the expected project term.
- Legal authorization to work in Canada.
- Sufficient English-language skills to understand safety instructions, emergency procedures, and site communications.
Preferred Experience
Priority consideration may be given to applicants with experience in:
- Concrete restoration and commercial concrete repair.
- Concrete chipping, grinding, preparation, patching, forming, or finishing.
- High-rise swing-stage construction.
- Swing-stage installation, rigging, movement, or dismantling.
- Waterproofing, membranes, coatings, sealants, and caulking.
- Exterior building restoration.
- Masonry repair.
- Hoisting and rigging.
- Scaffolding or suspended-access systems.
- Working on active or high-profile construction sites.
- Aerial work platforms or other access equipment.
Work Conditions and Physical Requirements
Applicants must be capable of:
- Working at significant heights from swing stages and suspended work platforms.
- Remaining focused and productive in exposed environments.
- Working outdoors in changing temperatures, wind, sun, and other weather conditions.
- Wearing a full-body harness and required personal protective equipment for extended periods.
- Lifting, carrying, positioning, and controlling tools, equipment, and construction materials.
- Repeated bending, crouching, kneeling, reaching, gripping, climbing, standing, and walking.
- Working around concrete dust, debris, noise, vibration, coatings, and active construction operations.
- Working extended shifts when required by project conditions.
- Adjusting to weather delays, operational restrictions, and changing project schedules.
