Overview
We are looking for a friendly, reliable, and motivated Salon Assistant / Beauty Assistant to join our growing team. The ideal candidate is passionate about the beauty industry, enjoys working with clients, and is comfortable assisting with both beauty services and daily salon operations. This role includes threading and waxing services, hair assistance, reception duties, and helping create a welcoming, professional environment for every client.
Duties
- Perform eyebrow threading and waxing
- Perform full-face threading and waxing
- Perform upper lip (mustache) threading and waxing
- Shampoo and wash clients' hair
- Apply hair colour as directed
- Blow-dry clients' hair
- Assist stylists during hair services
- Greet clients and provide exceptional customer service
- Answer phone calls and respond to client inquiries
- Schedule appointments and manage the salon booking system
- Maintain client records
- Clean and sanitize workstations, tools, and equipment
- Sweep hair, mop floors, and maintain the overall cleanliness of the salon
- Restock salon supplies and organize inventory
- Assist with opening and closing salon duties
- Promote salon services and retail products when appropriate
Qualifications
- Experience with eyebrow, upper lip, and full-face threading and waxing is required
- Experience applying hair colour and blow-drying hair is preferred
- Experience washing hair in a salon environment
- Strong customer service and communication skills
- Professional, reliable, and punctual
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills
- Knowledge of salon sanitation and hygiene practices
- Experience with salon appointment booking software is an asset
Expected Schedule
- Tuesday: 10:00 AM – 5:00 PM
- Thursday: 10:00 AM – 5:00 PM (as needed)
- Friday: 10:00 AM – 5:00 PM
- Saturday: 10:00 AM – 5:00 PM
Additional hours or schedule changes may be required based on business needs.
