We are seeking a skilled Heavy Duty Mechanic Apprentice to join our industrial maintenance team. The ideal candidate will possess strong mechanical and electrical expertise, with experience in manufacturing environments. This role involves diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining heavy machinery and equipment to ensure optimal operational efficiency. Responsibilities
- Perform routine inspections and preventative maintenance on heavy machinery and equipment.
- Diagnose mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic issues using schematics and analysis skills.
- Repair or replace faulty components, including motors, belts, pumps, valves, and electrical systems.
- Utilize programmable logic controllers (PLCs) and CMMS software for troubleshooting and maintenance scheduling.
- Conduct welding, HVAC repairs, boiler maintenance, and low voltage electrical work as needed.
- Read and interpret technical schematics, wiring diagrams, and manuals to facilitate repairs.
- Maintain accurate documentation of maintenance activities within CMMS systems.
- Ensure compliance with safety standards and environmental regulations during all maintenance tasks.
- Collaborate with team members to improve maintenance procedures and reduce downtime.
Requirements
- Proven experience in industrial maintenance or manufacturing environments as a Heavy Duty Mechanic or similar role.
- Strong mechanical knowledge with expertise in troubleshooting heavy equipment.
- Electrical experience including low voltage systems, PLCs, and industrial electrician skills.
- Familiarity with schematics, CMMS software, HVAC systems, boilers, welding techniques, and general maintenance practices.
- Ability to analyze complex problems quickly and develop effective solutions.
- Excellent communication skills in English for clear documentation and teamwork.
- Customer service orientation with a proactive approach to safety and operational excellence.
- Relevant certifications or training in industrial maintenance are preferred but not required.
